What is counselling?

It is somewhere you can think and talk about your worries with a counsellor in a safe and confidential place. You can see a counsellor for lots of different reasons including:

  • Anxiety/Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Suicidal thoughts or feelings
  • Trauma
  • Addiction
  • Relationship Issues
  • Bullying
  • Family problems

What can counselling offer me?

  • A space to clear my head
  • A place to come and talk about my thoughts and feelings
  • A place to talk about my choices

Our confidential counselling service is here to help through difficult times. We help people from all walks of life and offer supportive service, giving you the opportunity for change.

Counselling provides a space to talk about whatever you need, to share thoughts, and to explore sometimes difficult feelings in a safe environment. The Counsellor will be alongside to help you develop a greater understanding of your thoughts, feelings and their meanings, confidentially and without judgement.

All of our counsellors follow the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework.

Please contact counselling@logcabin.org.uk and the counsellor will get in contact with you.

Alternatively, you can call on 0208 840 3400 option 1 or 07548 094 843

The content of all sessions is completely confidential.

Drop-in Sessions

What are these?

The Youth Counselling Service (11-25yrs) offers a weekly Drop-in Session during term times. This is an alternative way of accessing the service and offers the opportunity to have a brief discussion about the nature of any problems or issues that are causing you concern.

Drop-in sessions last for 30 minutes, and are available on Saturdays between 11am and 1.30pm. These sessions are filled on a first come basis. Sessions are booked on the day.

What happens at these sessions?

You will be offered a 30 minute session with a counsellor where you can talk about your difficulties and look at possible ways forward.

If you feel at the end of your session you would benefit from additional counselling this can be discussed at the end of session.

The session can also be used to help if you are not sure if you would benefit from a regular counselling appointment, but would like to see if you might benefit from an initial discussion of your issues.

When do these take place?

Drop-in sessions are available to young people on a Saturday at the following times:

11am, 11.40am, 12.20pm and 1pm

How do I book a drop-in session?

  1. Call or text 07548 094843 before 10.30am.
  2. You will receive confirmation of you scheduled appointment.
  3. If you are new to the service, on arrival you will be asked to complete a referral form (available online).

If you have any questions about the drop-in sessions, feel free to call the counselling service coordinator on 07548 094843 or email counselling@logcabin.org.uk
